Research
The research programs of Monash Global Health require multi-disciplinary input and draw upon the collective research and education skill base across the whole of Monash University and all of its international campuses. Current research projects include:
Establishment of an Evidence-informed Policy Network in the Pacific (EVIPNet)
This project, funded by the World Health Organisation, is working to develop an evidence-informed policy network in the Pacific that will engage the 22 pacific island countries and territories (PICTs) over five years. The EVIPNet will assist PICTs in improving health outcomes through the translation of relevant research findings and information into effective, affordable, sustainable and timely policies and health services.

HIV and H2O: The Bushbuckridge Diarrhoea Project
Funded by a Monash University International Strategic Initiative grant, the project is currently undertaking a baseline study of diarrhoeal diseases among people living with HIV/AIDS in a rural, recourse-limited setting in South Africa. Investigators are gathering data to assess issues of safe water supply, water utilisation, susceptibility to diarrhoeal disease in people with HIV/AIDS. Lessons learned from the project will be used to inform community-based and health service interventions to lessen the impact of diarrhoeal diseases in people living with HIV/AIDS in the local and wider South African community. Furthermore, interdisciplinary collaborations between global and local community-based research teams will be strengthened to provide future research capacity and to inform interventions in HIV/AIDS and diarrhoeal diseases.
